"The residents within the Fishers Fire District should be grateful to John Williamson for stepping up back in June. I know I am grateful for a number of reasons. First he provided a calming impact in the meetings, when many of us were not happy attendees. His willingness to not only offer his time as an interim Commissioner, but his approach. John embraced his role, and sought out any opportunity to gather more knowledge to help him understand the many challenges this District was facing. He utilized this knowledge to help him make informed decisions. As a fellow elected official, I know these types of decisions are not always the most popular ones. They are though made with what's in the best interest of the entire Fire District. Public trust, listening to the residents, working together for what is in the best interest of the District has brought a lowering of taxes during John's short tenure. I hope the residents within this District give John Williamson the opportunity to continue to lead and serve for the next 5 yrs."
